When the curtains of night are pinned back by the stars and the beautiful moon sweeps the skies and the dewdrops of heaven are kissing the rose it is then that my memory flies As if on the wings of some beautiful dove in haste with the message it bears to bring you a kiss of affection and say "I'll remember you love in my prayers" Go where you will on land or at sea I'll share all your sorrows and cares at night when I kneel by my bedside to pray I'll remember you love in my prayers I have loved you too fondly to ever forget the love you have spoken for me the kiss of affection still worn on my lips when you told me how true you would be I know not if fortune is fickle or friend or if time will your memory wear but I know that I'll love you wherever you roam and remember you love in my prayers While the angels in heaven are guarding the good as God has ordained them to do in answer to prayers I have offered to Him I know there is one watching you may its bright spirit be with you through life to guide you up heaven's bright stairs and meet with the one who has loved you so true and remembers you love in his prayers

Hard Times 04:05
Let us pause in life's pleasures and count its many tears while we all sup sorrow with the poor there's a song that will linger forever in our ears hard times come again no more It's the song the sigh of the weary hard times, hard times come again no more many days you have lingered around my cabin door hard times come again no more While we seek mirth and beauty and music light and gay there are frail forms fainting at my door though their voices are silent their pleading looks will say hard times come again no more There's a pale, drooping maiden who toils her life away with a worn heart whose better days are o'er though her voice should be merry 'tis sighing all the way hard times come again no more
11.
The Lord only knows how tired I've been I'm trying to keep on but I don't know when will trouble take my worried mind and let me alone again the Lord only knows how tired I've been I'm trying to make the most I can of the worn out, run down wretch I am I tried to tell the doctor but she would not understand the Lord only knows how troubled I am Please tell my ma I'll be home soon in time to see the poppies bloom the Lord who knows how tired I've been will see me safely home again

Banjolele 03:28
I placed a bet once on a horse I can't forget that day put my last two bucks on the mare named Luck she ran the other way I love my banjolele my ukelanjolele I love to play it daily it's always out of tune Seems every time I take a walk I get lost in the park so I eat nothing but garlic now you can find me in the dark It's twelve o'clock, I'm trying to sleep the neighbors are watching TV the blue light blinking through my windowpane and the noise don't bother me To the fella who took my bike I hope that you enjoy it you can ride it if you like but please do not destroy it Some days are bad, some are worse most are simply terrible there's one thing I like to sing to make them somewhat bearable
13.
Let us sing a song that will cheer us on the way in a little while we're going home the night will end in everlasting day in a little while we're going home In a little while, in a little while we shall cross the billow's foam we will meet at last when the stormy winds have passed in a little while we're going home There is rest beyond, there's relief from every care in a little while we're going home no tears shall fall in that city bright and fair in a little while we're going home We shall do the work that our hands may find to do in a little while we're going home the grace of God will our daily strength renew in a little while we're going home

about

Andru Bemis South Haven, Michigan

"Michigan's premier neo folk artist ... is a modern day train hopping, banjo slinging troubadour who has made a name for himself in small venues across the US. His charismatic live show garners (accurate) comparisons to Arlo and Woody.” (ThisIsHappening - photo credit: Jack Hirschorn) ... more
